Learners can access the Sqillpad platform by registering and paying the subscription fees. To enable supervision by teachers and for the support of parents, the learner is required to register the particulars of his or her school and parents or guardians.

To provide learners with a safe learning environment that eliminates access to inappropriate content, Sqillpad is currently only available on proprietary Sqillpad Tablet PC.

The Sqillpad Tablet PC has an inbuilt Mobile Device Management (MDM) system, which allows the school to limit the sites that the learner can visit. As a result, learners are able to better concentrate and progress in their studies.

Self Learning

Upon registration, the learner can access digital education content on the Sqillpad platform on his or her own. These include the Virtual Learn that offers interactive lessons and assessments for the learner and Virtual Lab that allows learners conduct scientific experiments based on Sqillpad’s simulation technology.

While it has been designed to enable learner-centred education, the Sqillpad platform is equally optimised to enable the learner to get assistance from teachers both from his or her school and those based in other schools.

Family Group Use

Family Group Use

The Sqillpad© Family Group Use feature is designed to enable device sharing, should a family not be able to provide each learner in the family with their own device. Simply install the Sqillpad© application on a shared device then create individual profiles for each learner on the same device.

School Group Use

School Group Use

A group of learners in a school can share devices, should each not be able to acquire one of their own. The Sqillpad© School Group Use feature allows a pool of devices to be set up and used as a library. A group of learners that are registered and fully subscribed to Sqillpad© can access such devices form the computer laboratory or library.

Teacher Access

With Sqillpad©, all teachers across the country can tap into the benefits of technology by running lessons for learners that are registered on the platform. To get started, the teacher needs to register and request their Head Teacher to verify their profile on the platform. Once verified, the teacher will get access to a wealth of resources including the information of the learners’ in their respective classes and the lesson content.

Principle Access

Principle Access

The Principal has approving authority for their school’s activities on the platform. All learners and the respective teachers from the school need to be verified by the Principal to access the platform. To manage the access rights for his or her school, the Principal needs to create his or her profile on the platform.

Artificial Intelligence

Among others, the new curriculum focuses on teaching Ugandan learners how to conduct research, collaborate in groups and present to their peers. However, not all content available online may be appropriate for the learners. Sqillpad© has in-built Artificial Intelligence (AI) capability that readily assist learners to filter information and generate relevant insights when conducting research.

Professional Assistance

Sqillpad© recognises that there are exceptional educators who may not be physically present in every school but possess valuable skills to aid learners. Through our Professional Assistance feature, learners across the country can access virtual lessons offered by the most proficient teachers on our platform. This allows learners to access a variety of teachers beyond the limitation of their own school.

With Sillpad©’s Group Activity feature, learners within a class or subject can form discussion groups on specific topics and work collaboratively for to enhance learning. For greater effectiveness, the platform enables active supervision of the groups by the respective subject or class teachers.

Updating Content

Edit Tab to read: Offline Access

With Sqillpad©, learners can access relevant content without the need to have Internet connection at all times. To use this feature, the learner downloads both content and assessments to the Table PC when she or he activates the platform. Please go to settings to access this feature.

Subject Preference

Subject Preference

Sqillpad© offers a wide range of subjects, some of which may not be taught in every school. When logging in, learners are advised to go to “Personal Preferences” where they can select the specific subjects that they are enrolled for and click “Save”. The subject page will thereafter only display the learner’s chosen subjects.

Parental Access

Parental Access

Sqillpad© understands the need to involve parents in their children’s learning journey. To this end, we offer a platform for parents to create their profiles and link to their children’s accounts. This enables parents to receive detailed weekly reports on their child’s academic activities, which in turn empowers the parent to provide additional support to their child as may be relevant.
